What is included in my festival ticket?

Weekend tickets include entry to the festival from Friday 19th July - Sunday 21st July 2024. This includes a full weekends line up of music.

Day tickets are only valid for the date printed on the ticket.

Camping can be added separately for weekend ticket holders only. Caravans, campers, motor-homes, tents, all live-in vehicles are welcome and included in the standard camping pitch. Please add Festival tickets first to unlock camping options. Camping is available Fri, Sat and Sun night with an additional option for Thursday early arrival. This needs to be pre-booked.

When do I receive my tickets?

Tickets will be issued via email 3 - 5 days before the event unless you download the Skiddle app then they will automatically appear (link below). This is the easiest way to store and scan you tickets so we strongly advise this.

Where is Woodshrop Held?

Woodshrop is held at West Mid Showground is a peaceful family-friendly site on the banks of the mighty River Severn in the heart of Shrewsbury Town Centre.  Shrewsbury sights, restaurants, and shops are within 15 minutes walk and just half an hour from Ironbridge Gorge and the Shropshire Hills. This site is in the center of it all whilst retaining its country charm.

Are dogs allowed?

Well behaved dogs on a short lead are welcome but please be aware that we may close areas to dogs if they get to busy for the dogs own well-being.

All dog waste must be picked up and disposed of correctly. Please make sure no long leads are used as ​their little 'parcels' can get missed.

Water for your furry friends will be available at the Woofshrop bar.

Do I need to bring cash and is contactless available?

All bars and food vendors will have contactless payment available. Stalls may be cash only so please bring cash to cover this.

There is no cash point on-site.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Enjoy a variety of food and drinks from our onsite vendors or bring your own food to the festival! We have dedicated picnic areas for families to relax and enjoy their meals. We have a strict no glass policy.

🍺 Drink Responsibly 🍺 
Adults are reminded to drink responsibly. Challenge 25 will be in operation. We also have a zero tolerance policy for drugs.

🚨 Alcohol Policy 🚨 
Following advice from West Mercia Police to comply with our licensing regulations, only alcohol purchased from our onsite bars is allowed within the arena. Please do not bring cans or bottles. 

♻️ Souvenir Reusable Cups ♻️ 
Campers will receive a complimentary souvenir reusable cup, one per pitch. Additional cups can be purchased at the bar and merchandise tent for £3 each. These cups can be refilled throughout the festival, helping to reduce waste and enhance everyone's festival experience. Drinks in these cups can be taken in and out of the arena without any issues. Standard single use plastic cups are available at the bar for those not wishing to have a reusable cup.

Campers are welcome to enjoy their own food and drink within their camping areas. The strict no glass policy still applies in camping areas.

Please note that no glass is permitted on-site. Due to issues last year, we can no longer allow visitors to bring their own drinks into the arena unless it is in an re-useable cup. We ask that you support us and adhere to the rules and regulations of our license.

Is the showground pushchair and wheelchair friendly?

Yes! There are paths all around the showground and ramps into all buildings. There are also disabled toilets and showers for those camping.

What is your refund policy?

Refund protection is available to purchase at check out via our ticket provider. We strongly advise that refund protection is taken out. Please be aware that refund protection is via a third party and NOT the organisers. 

JOS Events policy:

Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase. Visitors are welcome to sell their tickets before the event.

  • Cancellation: If an event for which you have purchased Tickets is cancelled in full (and not rescheduled), your order will be cancelled, and you will be refunded the Sale Price of your Tickets. If you have purchased Tickets or Packages for an event that takes place over several days and one or more days (but not all days) are cancelled, you may only be offered a proportionate partial refund.
  • Rescheduling: If an event for which you have purchased Tickets is rescheduled, tickets will be valid for the new date (or you will be offered Tickets of a value corresponding with your original Tickets for the rescheduled event, subject to availability). If you notify us within the specified deadline that you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, you will be able to cancel your order and obtain a refund of the Sale Price of your Tickets or Packages (Service Charges and Order Processing Fees are non-refundable). If we do not specify a deadline, the deadline by default will be 48 hours before the date of the rescheduled event.

What are the show's opening hours for Day Visitors?

Friday 19th July 24 - 18:00 - 0:00 (gates open at 17:00)

Saturday 20th July 24- 11:00 - 0:00 (gates open at 10:00)

Sunday 21st July 24 - 11:00 - 18:30 (Gates open at 10:00)

Free parking is available.

Is there parking on site?

Yes and parking is free of charge. Please be aware that vehicles are left at your own risk and the organiser will not be liable for any loss or damage caused or sustained to, by or in respect of any vehicles or it's contents. 

Are carers tickets available?

Yes. To access carer tickets we will need to see proof via email (DLA Letter etc). Once this is received, we will send you a code to access these tickets. This enables you to enjoy the event without the worry of bringing the proof along etc.

Can I take videos and pictures at the event?

Yes please do! We absolutely love to be tagged in any posts on social media so click away! This shows us a side of the event that we wouldn't normally see.
We also have no objections to drones being used as long as you meet the requirements of the UK civil aviation authority & fly within the accordance of the law. All drone operators will be held responsible for any damage, injury or loss.

Is there security on site?

Yes we have security 24 hours a day from the start of the event to the end.

Security will ask to see your wristbands and will search bags when entering the showground. Please have these on at all times to avoid issues.

What do I do if I discover a medical emergency?

We have a trained team of medics on site and available and on call 24 hours throughout the event.

ACTION ON DISCOVERING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY.

•Sound the alarm by contacting security, calling the emergency number or JOS Events staff.
• Remain calm.
• If a person is injured do not move them.
• Nominate a person to alert the medical team to your whereabouts.
• Keep the casualty warm and calm until the arrival of the medical team.
• Give the casualty space and create space for the medical team.

What do I do if I discover a lost child or vulnerable person?

We will have fully trained SIA on site 24 / 7 at Woodshrop Festival.
Wristbands will contain the guardians number or any children or vulnerable adult.

ACTION ON DISCOVERY OF A LOST CHILD / VULNERABLE PERSON.

• Sound the alarm by contacting security, calling the emergency number or JOS Events staff.
• Be calm and keep the child safe and calm.
• Tell no one around you. The showground will immediately be locked down once we are alerted.
• Do not allow the vulnerable person to leave with anyone until security are present. This is for all children ’s safety. Once alerted, protocol is for security to make sure the child / vulnerable person has found their family.
• Do not allow the child / vulnerable person to leave with anyone unless it is our SIA security team. The SIA team will have high viz and a badge (example below).
• Do not try and find the child’s / person’s guardians.

What do I do if I discover a fire?

ACTION ON DISCOVERY OF FIRE

• Sound the alarm by contacting security, calling the emergency number or JOS Events staff.
• Call 999.
• Leave any buildings by the nearest exit.
• Do not re-enter the building.
• Report to the assembly point.
• Do not attempt to tackle any fires. JOS Events directors are former fire service and are fully trained to assess the situation. They will determine if it is safe to tackle a fire using the extinguishers or not.
• Do not put yourself at risk. Fire will spread rapidly and unexpectedly. Please just get yourself and any visitors in your area safe and stay safe.

ACTION ON HEARING ALARM


• Leave any buildings by the nearest exit.
• Do not re-enter the building.
• Report to the assembly point
• Do not attempt to tackle any fires.
• Do not put yourself at risk. Fire will spread rapidly and unexpectedly. Please just get yourself and your family safe and stay safe.

What do I do if I discover a suspicious package?

ACTION ON DISCOVERY OF A SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE.

• Sound the alarm by contacting security, calling the emergency number or JOS Events staff.
• Be prepared for evacuation of the area.
• Do not move, examine, disturb, or move the item.
• If an item is an obvious life risk, evacuate the area and call 999 immediately.
• Remember the 4 C’s, Confirm, Clear, Communicate and Control.
• Do not put yourself at risk.

Martyn’s Law is a new law designed to place a requirement on those responsible for certain locations to consider the threat from terrorism and implement appropriate and proportionate mitigation measures. JOS Events has a counter-terrorism policy in place.

When will my tickets arrive?

Tickets will be emailed approx. 3 - 5 days prior to the event. The quickest and easiest way to get your tickets is by downloading the Skiddle app (link below).  Tickets will appear instantly in the app and this is the easiest way to scan them on arrival.

What time can campers arrive from?

Thursday 18th July (early entry ticket only) - 16:00 - 20:00

Friday 19th July - 13:00 - 20:00

Saturday 20th July- 7:30 - 9:00

All visitors must depart by 11:00 on Monday 22nd July.

What time can I arrive on Thursday 18th July?

Early entry is strictly pre-booked only. This is designed to allow the visitor a more relaxed set up experience. The Bar will be open for anyone requiring a drink and the Magic Tea Pot will be providing some gentle entertainment to start the festival. 

Arrival times: 16:00 - 20:00. Unfortunately, we can not admit visitors after this time. 

How are pitches & EHU’s allocated?

  1. Pitch Allocation:
    • All pitches and Electric Hook-Up (EHU) points are assigned upon arrival.
    • If you prefer a specific area, such as a quiet zone, please inform the staff at the gate. They will make an effort to accommodate your request.
  2. Electric Hook-Up (EHU):
    • Upon check-in, you will receive a tag confirming your EHU reservation and payment.
    • Attach this tag to the box end of your EHU lead.
    • Ensure your EHU lead is at least 15 meters long, as we do not offer leads for hire.
  3. Group Camping:
    • If you wish to camp with a group, you must all arrive together.
    • A holding lane is available for group members to wait until everyone arrives.
    • We will process those who have arrived so that the entire group can enter the campsite promptly once complete.


Can I bring a caravan, motorhome or non standard live-in vehicle?

Yes absolutely! Caravans, campers, motor-homes, tents, all live-in vehicles are welcome and included in the standard camping pitch. We want you to be comfortable and to have fun!

Standard pitches are approx. 10m / 10m. Electric hook ups are available to book separately at an extra cost.

What camping facilities are available?

West Mid Showground is a fully working camp site with all camping amenities on site including toilets, showers, washing up areas, elsan points and laundry.  

Electric Hook ups are available at an additional charge. This needs to be booked in advance when booking tickets. Strictly one per pitch.

Pitch size is approx. 10m / 10m. Awnings are welcome and the 10m / 10m is a guide. We simply ask that you respect your neighbour.

Can groups camp together?

Yes of course. We welcome friends and family to camp together.

Groups must arrive together to make it easier for everyone. Unfortunately, EHU and non EHU pitches can not camp in the same area. There will be a holding area for groups to wait for their parties on site.

Camping, caravan & motorhome groups are welcome to contact us and we will look at the possibility of creating an area for them and a group discount.

Can I bring a generator?

No, we do not allow any generators other than those controlled by the organisers on site.

This is for fire safety reasons and to keep a clean and relaxed environment. EHU's are available to book and greener alternatives are available such as solar power.

What's included in the Glamping Package?

The glamping package includes the following:

Bell Tent fully dressed with:
Bed and bedding,
Rugs,
Throws,
Table,
Cushions,
Lights and lanterns.
Flowers and other finishing touches.
Electric hook up (normally an extra £60) 

Are camp fires permitted?

Camp fires are not permitted on site other than those organised by the organisers. 

Are BBQ's permitted?

Small above ground BBQ's are permitted but must be attended at all times. They must be at least 5m away from any tents or awnings. Fire wardens will be on site so please be aware that any fire they feel are not suitable may be asked to be extinguished.

Disposable BBQs are not permitted. Please do not dispose of BBQ coals in any bins unless dowsed thoroughly with water first.

Can I play my own music?

Yes, as long as you are considerate to others. All music must be stopped by 23:00 and security will be patrolling to enforce this. 

Is there a shop onsite?

We will try and provide an onsite shop however, the nearest convenience store is the local Spar store on Ellesmere Rd, Shrewsbury SY1 2PR. Just a short walk away.

Is single night camping available?

This is due to logistics of the event we can not accommodate this.

Is there disabled camping available?

Yes. The showground has an accessible disabled camping area with disabled toilets and showers. Please let us know on arrival if you have mobility issues and we will endeavour to get you as close to the entertainment areas as possible. This will be done on a first come, first served basis. 

Can two vehicles share a pitch?

Two vehicles or tents can’t share a pitch. A pitch is up to four adults on the condition they are sharing the same tent, camper etc. The pitch size of 10m / 10m is a guide and a pitch refers to one tent, live in vehicle sleeping up to four adults (no limit on children).

What happens at check in?

Please be aware that there may be a queue at check in but we will do our best to get you processed as quickly at possible.

Please have you tickets ready for scanning to speed up the process. You will then be issued with a wristband, your festival information, a recycling bag and if applicable your EHU tag. Please read all festival information as this contains vital information such as emergency procedures and emergency numbers. You will then be directed to a holding lane and a member of the team will take you to your pitch.
